Tournament rules
All games will consist of 2x8 minute chukkas (running time).
1 minute rest period between chukkas.No time outs allowed.
All current FINA rules to apply.
Each team must supply a competent referee for the game directly after their game.
Blue caps to start at the pump house (south side of the pool).
Teams will change ends at half time.Games will start on time.
Should any team not be ready, the clock will start on time, and the team that is ready will be awarded 1 goal immediately, and 1 goal per completed minute thereafter to a maximum of 4 goals.
POINTS: 2 for a win; 1 for a draw; 0 for a loss.
The winner and runner up of each pool will advance to quarter finals.
If teams are equal after the pool stage, the winner of the pool game will determine who advances.
If that game was drawn goal difference will be used.
Play Offs: In the event of a draw after full time, extra time will be played until a “golden goal” decides.
Final: In the event of a draw at full time, 1 extra chukka of 5 minutes running time will be played. If the scores are still equal after extra time, a further chukka will be played until a “golden goal” is scored.
In the event of weather delays, time will be made up on Friday evening (2hours) Saturday morning (20 minutes), Saturday evening (2hours) and Sunday morning (40 Minutes).If time still needs to be made up, we will abandon the lesser play off games.
This will however, be a drastic last resort.
All teams will eat supper on Friday 6 March 2009.
The cost of the tournament is R3500 per team.

Breakdown:
The tour fee has come down from the original letter because breakfast was erroneously calculated in as breakfast is supplied by the B&B and and Grey College provides lunch and supper on the Friday and Saturday in addition to taking a day off the tour in total. A private bus company was booked due to another school tour going away also added to the cost which now falls away because of said tour being canceled.

Toiletries, personal medical items, running shoes, spare swimming trunks, indemnity form , casual wear for evenings , comfortable travel clothing , school track suit, school T- shirt, school water polo cap, school shorts, towel, spending money for tuck shop and evenings entertainment, school water polo costume, schoolwork to do during study sessions.
Tourfee:
The amount of R1700 will be added to the players school fee account.
The fee includes all meals, travel to and in and around Bloemfontein, tournament fee, accommodation, tournament shirt and two outings. (a Game drive and a visit to the tank and De La Rey Museum)
Breakdown:
The tour fee has come down from the original letter because breakfast was erroneously calculated in as breakfast is supplied by the B&B and and Grey College provides lunch and supper on the Friday and Saturday in addition to taking a day off the tour in total. A private bus company was booked due to another school tour going away also added to the cost which now falls away because of said tour being canceled.
